Mindful Movements by Yogitherapi is a trauma-informed, culturally responsive wellness program offering yoga, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness-based creative arts to students in grades TK through 8. We're currently seeking a passionate and reliable Yoga & Wellness Instructor to join our growing team of youth wellness educators.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead developmentally appropriate yoga and mindfulness sessions for students in grades TK–8
- Incorporate breathwork, guided meditation, and wellness-based art/movement into sessions
- Provide safe modifications
- Use creative, engaging methods to help children connect to their bodies and emotions
- Collaborate with site leads to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Guide students in emotional regulation, self-awareness, and confidence through movement and stillness
- Encourage student expression and participation through fun, culturally sensitive practices
What We’re Looking For:
- 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (Yoga Alliance or equivalent required)
- Experience teaching or working with children (preferred), or a willingness to learn
- Background in or openness to trauma-informed and SEL-aligned teaching practices
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Positive, grounded, and patient presence
- Passion for bringing holistic wellness to underserved youth communities
- Must pass background check, fingerprinting, and TB test (required to work with children in schools)
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience in mindfulness-based arts, sound healing, or creative movement
- CPR/First Aid certification
