Leland Lawn, a leader of quality lawn care and landscaping on the Palouse, is seeking to fill the Landscape Service Technician position.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working outdoors in a team oriented environment, have positive attitude and wants to establish a long-term career with our company. This person must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, ability to follow directions, and able to operate various equipment. Landscaping experience is preferred, but not required.
Primary duties include ability to work on landscape projects such as trimming shrubs, hedges, small trees and performs related cleanup and hauling of yard debris.
Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs, walk for over 5 miles per day on various terrains and be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Recommended to not have major allergies to plant/dust or bee/wasp stings.
Must be available to work full-time from Monday through Friday. Due to the seasonality of our work, this individual will work with other company crews performing various other landscape/lawn care maintenance related services and some overtime may be required.
Pay is $17.50 - $22.00 per hour DOE. There is a 90-day probationary period.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience: Landscape experience preferred but not required
- Effort: Have physical stamina and ability to lift and carry landscaping supplies, tools, and equipment to complete any landscape projects assigned
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow directions from supervisors
- Assists in planting, removal or transplanting of trees, shrubs, and plants
- Utilize a variety of equipment including but not limited to back hoes, bobcats, mowers, tillers, sod cutters, weed eaters, augers, chippers, hedge or brush trimmers, chainsaws, pruning saws, axes, and other hand tools/equipment
- Operate trucks, and pull trailers obeying traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to work on ladders being comfortable with heights
- Assists in planning to ensure that sufficient resources and materials are available so that the project is completed in the most time-efficient manner
- Work as a team player and builds up other crew members to finish projects
- Follow company policies and procedures to ensure safety for all crew members, company property, and client property
