Bay Paws is a Luxury Pet Resort in Tampa. We are looking for our next leader! The Enrichment Lead is a full time role at our Ybor location.
Job Summary
The Enrichment Lead trains, supervises, plans, and coordinates a variety of functions related to leading the Enrichment team. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: implementing tailored enrichment activities for dogs, assessing canine behavior, overseeing safe and engaging play sessions, and managing the overall execution of the enrichment program. The Enrichment Lead ensures that all staff adhere to established protocols and training guidelines to provide a stimulating, safe, and well-structured environment for all dogs in the program.
Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in weekly lead meetings to foster collaboration across departments.
- Lead monthly department meetings.
- Oversee and manage the Enrichment team, including training new staff, providing feedback, and making recommendations for promotions or performance improvement plans.
- Find coverage for the department when needed, including stepping in to cover shifts when necessary.
General responsibilities:
- To develop and oversee sustainable behavior and enrichment programs for our pets in a day care and boarding environment.
- Work in collaboration with the daycare lead and staff to implement and execute practices of the enrichment program.
- Maintain comprehensive behavior observations and record them in the pet’s profile on our Pet Exec system.
- Communicate with and counsel pet parents to give them a good understanding of their pet’s behaviors and needs.
- Maintain clean and safe play yards
- Clean and sanitize all dishes and toys
Experience
- At least 2+ years of experience working with dogs in a pet care/training facility focused on daycare and the support of modified behaviors.
- A Certified Dog Behavior Certificate or Dog Training Certificate is preferred but not required.
- The ability to work with dogs of all sizes and unknown dispositions in a safe, effective and humane manner.
- Ability to review existing programs, processes and research with the intention of applying the best practice.
- Flexibility in scheduling and workflow.
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to lift and move objects and animals weighing up to 50 lbs for short distances and to humanely restrain a dog when necessary
- Must have sincere interest in working with our pets and a passion to help them grow and thrive by way of enrichment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
