Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. Your ability to engage with customers, upsell products, and maintain a clean and organized work environment will contribute to the overall success of our deli operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, in accordance with food safety standards.
- Upsell additional products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including regular bussing of tables and cleaning of equipment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while adhering to retail math principles.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking products as needed.
- Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food products.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or quick service fast food environment is preferred.
- Strong math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Food handling certification is desirable but not required; training will be provided.
