About the Role:
As a Legal Assistant at Hughes & Coleman, you’ll work directly with our Attorneys to ensure each client receives compassionate service and powerful advocacy. From drafting legal documents to managing records and communicating with clients, your work will directly contribute to life-changing outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain consistent and professional contact with clients regarding treatment and case updates
- Request, organize, and analyze medical records and billing
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Calculate and complete settlement documentation
- Update case management software to reflect the latest case progress
- Liaise with third parties including adjusters, providers, courts, and opposing counsel
- Support litigation by preparing discovery, assisting with trial preparation, and managing deadlines
- Schedule critical meetings and prep sessions for mediations, depositions, and court appearances
- Perform general administrative and organizational tasks in support of Attorneys and clients
What We’re Looking For:
2+ years of legal experience (personal injury or litigation preferred)
1+ year of clerical/administrative experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document formatting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail and follow-through
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to multitask effectively
High school diploma or equivalent required
