Kennedys, an international law firm with offices throughout the United States, is seeking a Legal Assistant/Secretary to join its New Jersey office. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense/coverage litigation, and will assist attorneys with all aspects of litigation including discovery, court filings, calendaring and trial preparation.
Required experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance defense/coverage litigation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills and have a keen attention to detail
- Ability to turn work around in an efficient manner with minimal errors is required
- Effective communication skills and ability to proactively manage assignments
- Thorough working knowledge of and experience working and filing within the Federal and New Jersey court systems.
- Provide general office support for litigation attorneys, for example, maintain and organize files, photocopy, maintain calendars, prepare expense reports, submit invoices for payment, schedule travel, coordinate meetings, scheduling conference rooms
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Provide general administrative assistance
The annualized salary range for this role is $68,000-$75,000. However, this is contingent upon level of experience, practice group, location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
