To strengthen our international Commercial Legal Team, we are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working at the intersection of law, business and technology. Based in Plzen, you will support WACKER's global businesses, with a particular focus on our SILICONES division, and help drive the evolution of our contracting processes, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform and Legal AI capabilities. You will work closely with the corporate Legal Department in Munich, report functionally to the Legal Team in Munich and locally to the Plzen site. The role combines hands-on commercial legal advice with responsibility for digitally enabled legal processes and close collaboration across business functions and international Legal teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Advise the business divisions, in particular SILICONES, on a broad range of legal matters in close cooperation with the Munich Legal team and under the functional guidance of the Head of Commercial Law at headquarters
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial sales agreements and other contracts relevant to the business divisions, both independently and together with the responsible Senior Legal Counsel
- Provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice to business stakeholders
- Support international strategic projects, transactions and business initiatives from a legal perspective
- Develop and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, negotiation and contract playbooks and standard terms
- Help create scalable contracting processes that enable the business to move faster while managing risk appropriately
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate legal work
- Take an active role in the day-to-day use, functional support and continuous improvement of the company’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system
- Use approved Legal Tech and Legal AI solutions responsibly to support contract review, drafting, legal research and knowledge management, while applying professional judgment and ensuring appropriate human review, data protection and confidentiality
- Collaborate closely with Legal teams in Germany, China and the United States
- Design and deliver legal training for relevant business functions, including training on contracting processes, CLM and approved Legal Tech tools
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal assessments, opinions and position papers
- Monitor legislative developments and case law in relevant European jurisdictions and translate them into practical guidance for the business
Job Requirements
- Fully qualified lawyer (m/f/d) with a Master's degree in Law (Mgr.)
- At least three years of professional experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel
- Experience in commercial law and contract negotiations is an advantage
- Experience advising commercial or business teams
- Very good knowledge of international contract and commercial law; basic knowledge of German law is an advantage
- Affinity for digital tools and a sound understanding of how Legal Tech, CLM and generative AI can support efficient, high-quality legal work
- Practical experience with a CLM system, contract automation, document review technology or Legal AI is an advantage; willingness to learn and actively help develop these tools is expected
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools critically and responsibly, validate outputs and comply with applicable requirements regarding confidentiality, data protection, information security and human oversight
- Excellent written and spoken English, including legal terminology, is required. Basic German language skills are beneficial; international experience is an advantage
- Pragmatic, business-oriented and solution-focused approach to legal matters
- Strong ability to analyze complex issues, identify what matters most and communicate legal advice clearly and concisely
- Entrepreneurial mindset, sound judgment and openness to new technologies and ways of working
