Job Description
Link Solutions is seeking a Linux System Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- Non-remote (relocation incentive available)
Our Linux System Administrator (Intermediate-Level) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of Windows-based workstations and services in compliance with DoD and ARL IT policies at the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Job Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and manage RHEL systems and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments.
- Administer KVM virtualization, Puppet automation, and kernel-level tuning.
- Implement system patching, STIG compliance, and release/version control.
- Monitor performance, handle incident response, and ensure uptime and data integrity.
- Automate tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or equivalent configuration management tools.
- Maintain backup and recovery solutions and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
- Conduct system audits and enforce DoD security requirements.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive configuration documentation.

Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- Must have an MS or BA/BS in computer sciences or information technology with two (2+) additional years of experience.
- Five (5+) years of relevant experience working in an IT or Service Desk environment.
- IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification.
- Ability to work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing structures and new requirements.
Preferred:
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification
- Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
- Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
