IS/IT Subject Matter Expert Level IV (Linux)

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for IS/IT Subject Matter Expert Level IV, Sr Linux SME to support the JS J7 Joint Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT).

This role is 100% onsite.

Certifications (IAT Level II)

One of the following:

• Security+ CE
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
• System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

and

• RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator (preferred) or
• RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist (preferred)

And

• Functional area certification (required prior to start date)

Required Skills

• A Bachelor's degree and/or 8 years of experience with data design in a consulting or internal role, defining data strategy and architectures while developing and mentoring staff at all levels to build and deliver high quality and highly innovative simulation services.
• At least 5 years of experience related to DoD major systems or programs.
• Strong knowledge in Red Hat enterprise environments, to include Ansible and Satellite architecture. Knowledge in Terraform and containers is a plus.
• Knowledge in scripting, preferably automation with Bash and YAML Ansible playbooks Knowledge in GitLab/GitHub a plus.
• Experience with Linux servers in a virtual environment, preferably vSphere.
• General understanding of Networking concepts and troubleshooting of network communications.
• Knowledge in STIG checklists and SCAP scanning tools and an understanding of DoD vulnerability mitigations with Red Hat servers.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to work well on your own as well as working on large projects in a team environment.
