Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Low Voltage Estimator to join our estimating team specializing in structured cabling and fiber optic installation projects. This role requires deep knowledge of low-voltage systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive bids for large-scale, high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for low-voltage projects, including structured cabling, backbone fiber, outside plant (OSP), inside plant (ISP), and pathways.
- Interpret RFPs, drawings, specs, and scope documents for projects in hyperscale data centers, MTDCs, and Fortune 500 environments.
- Perform takeoffs using digital estimation tools for fiber optic cable, copper cabling, patch panels, trays, conduits, racks, and terminations.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to develop proposals that are technically sound and cost-effective.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors for equipment and labor components.
- Maintain accurate cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment across multiple regions and customer types.
- Assist with scope reviews, value engineering, alternates, and bid clarifications during the proposal process.
- Participate in handoff meetings to transition awarded projects to operations and project management teams.
- Support change orders and budget adjustments as required throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3–5+ years of experience estimating low-voltage systems (fiber optic, structured cabling, or telecommunications).
- Strong understanding of TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC codes and standards.
- Familiarity with products and installation methods from manufacturers such as Corning, CommScope, Panduit, Siemon, and Leviton.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and telecommunications construction drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of data center construction practices and timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience estimating projects in hyperscale or mission-critical environments.
- Technical certifications (e.g., BICSI Technician, RCDD, or FOA certifications).
- Experience working with design/build and design-assist delivery models.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
