Purpose of Position:
The machine integration build leader is responsible for fostering a safety focused culture while ensuring the integration of the automation cell is performed with highest efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities:
· Build Leader make sure all team members know and follow company safety policies and procedures, maintain 5s process
· Lead a team of builders in the integration and build of custom automation cells, equipment and special machines
· Responsible for assigning job task to build team members for the integration, assembly and testing of automated machine tools and equipment
· Monitor integration progress and maintain resource plan to ensure projects follow timeline schedules
· Guides team through the layout and integration process according to blue print and product specifications
· Collaborates with Project Managers, Engineers and other team members to identify and resolve technical issues during the integration assembly and testing process, redlines changes made during build process
· Enforce quality control processes to guarantee the reliability and performance of tooling and equipment. Conduct thorough testing and validation of equipment. Ensure all in build check sheets are properly filled out and maintained.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integration processes, efficiency, and overall product quality.
· Immediate notification to project manager of any potential delays within the integration process.
· Support/ensure IMG Manufacturing Group (KPI’s):
· Automation cell schedules
· Complete and functional deliverables
· Power- On date
Skills and Qualifications:
· Worked in the Automotive Industry for 10 years
· Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) as a Machine tool Builder, Machine Assembler, or similar role in manufacturing equipment
· Must be able to accurately read and interpret blue prints
· Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques and tools
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively
· Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment with effective communication skills
· Excellent problem solving and communication skills
· Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, and warehouse personnel, to achieve common/consistent manufacturing objectives.
· Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Dropbox
· Proficiency at using computer systems (e.g. MS Office programs, ERP and other IT applications as trained/required).
· Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately track and manage material and documentation for your projects, ensuring all tool build activities are executed with precision.
· Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams, and external partners, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the manufacturing process.
