Job Summary:
To perform precision honing and internal finishing. May be required to assist higher and lower grade Operators.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works from blueprints, shop routers, written and oral instructions.
- Sets-up and operate Horizontal and Automatic honing machines to perform precision honing and internal finishing.
- Set upper and lower limits, spindle RPMs.
- Choose and set up the correct fixtures, mandrel, stone holders and stones.
- Able to verify hole size using precision measuring tools.
- Able to maintain and verify surface finish.
- Able to set-up and use handheld honing equipment.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires knowledge of several different types of hone machines.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of one year experience directly related to conventional honing or related CNC machines.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure of hands continuously to coolant and spray on clothing.
