Job Overview
Responsible for the upkeep of all production equipment, including plumbing and electrical. Conduct minor repairs of the main office building, internal offices and distribution warehouse. In some cases, maintenance technicians split their time between repair, maintenance, and the installation of system upgrades. Additionally, maintenance technicians are expected to perform emergency repairs, which necessitates the ability to troubleshoot promptly.
Duties
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, piping systems, and plumbing (PVC, stainless, chemical-resistant materials).
- Perform basic to intermediate electrical system maintenance and repair, including troubleshooting motors, VFDs, and control panels.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair chemical processing equipment such as storage tanks, valves, agitators, and mixers.
- Support Mechanical Integrity Program requirements (inspections, documentation, preventive maintenance schedules).
- Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and repair facility utility systems (compressed air, water, HVAC, etc.).
- Safely handle and work around corrosives, flammables, and oxidizers in accordance with facility procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hot work practices are followed per company standards.
- Drive a company service truck for parts pickup, equipment delivery, or other assigned duties (primarily local).
- Operate equipment per company and manufacturer guidelines to maximize equipment lifecycle and minimize costs.
- Accurately complete work orders, PM logs, and maintenance documentation in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System/Limble).
- Maintain shop tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory in clean and safe condition.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and plant modifications as needed.
- Provide input on equipment reliability and recommend improvements.
- Report all accidents, possible injuries, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents immediately.
- Use and maintain required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings, emergency drills, and required training (OSHA, etc.).
- Work collaboratively with other team members and departments, but able to work independently with minimal supervision when needed.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and piping systems.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and instrumentation.
- Understanding of Mechanical Integrity Programs and CMMS usage.
- Forklift and aerial lift (boom/scissor lift) operation experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience a plus.
- Knowledge of basic computer applications (email, CMMS, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. in varied working conditions.
- Ability to work safely in environments with chemical exposure, high noise, heat, and confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.98 - $28.75 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
