Red Bull inspires both individuals and ideas. In this role, the Athlete Marketing Manager (AMM) supports athletes in advancing their careers and achieving their aspirations. The AMM is responsible for bringing the Red Bull brand to life at the regional level through collaboration with athletes, athlete-focused projects, and marketing initiatives tailored to athletes. This role involves establishing and managing Red Bull’s presence by utilizing branded and product-endorsing athletes as means to expand the consumer base while emphasizing the brand's unique identity. Additionally, the Athlete Marketing Manager must possess strategic vision and executional skills to extend the impact of managed athletes to a national and global scale.

Job Description

ATHLETE MARKETING

Collaborate with Regional Marketing and National Athlete Marketing teams to develop an overarching athlete marketing strategy tailored to the athletes in your region and areas of focus.

Establish individual athlete goals and target outcomes aligned with both international and national sports marketing strategies.

Identify new talent, ensuring that top-tier U.S. athletes are identified, evaluated, and well-positioned to join the roster.

Develop comprehensive marketing, communication, and performance plans for each managed athlete.

Ensure a clear understanding of product efficacy and its effective communication among the managed athletes and the broader network of opinion leaders.

Deliver personalized branding solutions for each managed athlete, emphasizing innovative design, visibility, and execution.

Negotiate athlete agreements and contracts, including details on performance expectations, retainer fees, bonuses, branding rights, availability, schedules, and usage rights.

Conceptualize and execute innovative and transformative athlete projects that showcase both the athlete’s persona and brand identity through meaningful consumer engagement.

Leverage existing national and international athlete assets to generate targeted outcomes and strategic touchpoints within your region and designated focus areas.

Facilitate external communication of products and branded athlete narratives by collaborating with internal teams such as Communications, Digital Media, and Red Bull Media House.

Strategically utilize international athletes visiting or competing in the region to amplify impact and outreach.

Partner with the Regional Sports Marketing and Sports Event Marketing teams to strengthen authentic product and brand connections with local athletes.

Work closely with each athlete’s trusted inner circle and partners to create additional opportunities for extending the reach and impact of the product and brand messaging.

ATHLETE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Facilitate goal setting, planning, and performance management for each athlete under management.

Monitor, evaluate, and manage the performance and marketing goals of each athlete biannually.

Individually assess and evaluate each managed athlete’s career plans and professional environment, including trainers, coaches, agents, family members, other team managers, training terrain, off-season and on-season dynamics, equipment, and innovations.

Integrate suitable and innovative performance solutions into each athlete's program.

Ensure that each managed athlete has a comprehensive understanding of product usage and brand association.

Establish realistic performance parameters for the duration of each athlete's agreement and continuously monitor and evaluate progress.

Identify and assess any performance challenges faced by athletes and recommend appropriate solutions or, if necessary, termination plans.

DAY TO DAY ADMINISTRATION

Collaborate and work in a team environment with other members of the sports and marketing teams.

Oversee and manage assigned athlete projects and their associated budgets.

Assist the region's Sports Marketing Manager and team, as well as the Headquarters Director of Athlete Marketing, in developing annual business plans.

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years sports marketing experience

Extensive knowledge of sports management and the sports industry

Outstanding communication skills, including expertise in training and delivering presentations

Demonstrated success in planning, organization, and project management

Strategically focused with a creative mindset

Receptive to new environments, ideas, processes, innovations, and opportunities

Entrepreneurial spirit: self-motivated, independent, and results-oriented, with an emphasis on serving consumer needs

Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $85,360 – $128,040 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
