Department / Cluster\: Cluster Public Affairs & Donation Management Unit, New Territories West Cluster

Rank\: Senior Information Officer

Pay\: HK$97,787 to HK$116,855 [HMPS point 9 to 14] per month (including Monthly Allowance)

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will be seconded to the Corporate Communication Department of Hospital Authority Head Office, with main duties as follows\:

1. Develop, plan and implement an effective two-way communication channel with media and community stakeholders in information dissemination and image building.

2. Assume the duties of 24-hour Duty Officer under a roster system in handling daily media enquiries and request.

3. Monitor media intelligence and coverage on HA and health care related development.

4. Disseminate corporate and hospital policies and services through the arrangements of press conferences and media interviews, preparing press releases and feature articles, and organising community engagement activities.

5. Participate in the formulation of the strategies for risk communication and crisis management.

Entry Requirements

1. A degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related fields.

2. At least 8 years’ working experience in corporate communications, media relations, mass media, or related fields, of which 3 years at supervisory level.

3. Good contact and networking with local media.

4. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preferable Attributes/Exposure

1. Very strong inter-personal communication skills.

2. Have confidence and be independent to work under pressure with tight deadline.

3. Good knowledge and skills in operation of PC/IT systems.
