About the Role
As Manager, Human Resource, you will oversee the full spectrum of HR operations, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, and HR compliance. You will serve as a trusted HR partner to department heads and supervisors, providing sound HR advice and ensuring adherence to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will also support your supervisor in managing employee relations matters, including Committees of Inquiry and Review Panels, and will deputise during the supervisor’s absence.
Some of the Key Responsibilities Include
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, managing the end-to-end recruitment process including job posting, candidate selection, reference check, pre-employment medical check, offer preparation, onboarding and induction
- Oversee the staff exit process, including conducting exit interviews, as well as facilitating retirement and re-employment processes
- Involve in the planning and participation of career fairs onsite and offsite
- Prepare salary proposals through internal benchmarking and drafting offer of employment letters, ensuring offers are made within established timelines and internal pay equity is maintained
- Compile and verify new hire data for monthly payroll processing and ensuring accuracy of records
- Manage employee transitions including promotions, transfers, and secondments, ensuring all documentation is completed within established timelines
- Provide HR advice and support to HODs and supervisors in managing staff performance issues and resolving workplace conflicts in a timely manner
- Support the supervisor in handling employee relations, including scheduling meetings and preparing accurate minutes for Committees of Inquiry and Review Panels
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, and maintain proper HR documentation and records
- Manage staff enquiries on HR matters
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., IHRP, SHRM, CIPD) is preferred
- Minimum 6 years of progressive HR experience, with in-depth knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulations
- Strong understanding of talent management principles and experience across the full HR operations spectrum
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Proficiency in SuccessFactors and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proactive, meticulous, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently/in a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
