Job description

Manager – Utility & Ventilation Team

Do you enjoy leading people, making technical decisions and keeping critical systems running reliably?

This could be your opportunity to lead an experienced team responsible for utilities and ventilation across our Valby site.

Your new role

As Manager for the Utility & Ventilation Team, you will hold overall responsibility for the safe, reliable and compliant operation, maintenance and development of utility and ventilation systems across our Valby site.

The area includes GMP-critical HVAC and clean utility systems supporting production areas, as well as a significant portfolio of ventilation and utilities related to laboratories and office buildings. It also covers large central utility plants, including cooling plants, boiler plants and compressed air plants.

A key part of the role is balancing stable day-to-day operations with maintenance, reliability, lifecycle planning and technical development. You will set direction and priorities for the area, support technical decision-making and ensure that systems remain in a safe and compliant state.

The role involves close collaboration across several business areas such as Maintenance, Project Engineering, Quality organization, Production and Laboratory areas, often balancing operational needs, technical risks and compliance requirements. Success is measured through high uptime and compliance, combined with a team that thrives, takes responsibility and continues to develop.

Your future team

Utility & Ventilation is part of our Technical Asset Management Department.

You will lead a well-functioning team of 16 colleagues: 6 Technicians, 4 System Coordinators and 6 Maintenance Coordinators. The team consists of highly skilled and experienced professionals with strong expertise in their respective technical areas, installations and processes.

We are responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and development of utility and ventilation systems across the site. The team combines hands-on technical work with maintenance planning, technical documentation and compliance activities within regulated areas such as GMP and HSE. We work closely with dedicated external service partners and coordinate their contribution as part of our daily operations.

Professional expertise, collaboration and a high degree of autonomy are central to the way we work. As Manager, you will have the freedom to set direction and priorities while leading a team with strong ownership and close collaboration across the organisation.

The position is based in Valby, Denmark.

What you bring to the team

The role calls for a combination of people leadership and solid technical understanding. You are comfortable leading experienced specialists, creating clear direction and giving people responsibility and room to succeed.

A solid technical foundation within utilities and HVAC is important, enabling you to provide qualified technical sparring and support sound decisions while giving specialists room to apply their expertise.

We expect that you:

  • Have a relevant technical education, for example as a Marine Engineer, Engineer or similar.
  • Bring 5+ years of experience within utilities and/or HVAC in a technically complex environment.
  • Have people management experience and enjoy developing individuals and teams.
  • Have experience from pharma or another regulated industry. GMP experience is a clear advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align different interests and drive decisions across functions while balancing operations, technical risk and compliance.
