While manufacturing of Precision Parts and Subassemblies is a growing part of our business, we believe that having the Tool and Gage manufacturing capabilities in house allows us to better serve our customers.
With our Precision Grinding and WEDM/EDM Capabilities, in addition to our Milling and Turning capabilities, we can provide a more complete solution for ALL of our customers.
Summary
Sirois Tool Company is looking for a motivated, self-starting Purchasing Agent to join our Team. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for purchasing materials, and supplies, reviewing and analyzes purchase requisitions, investigates and develops sources of supplies, prepares bid specifications, issues bid requests and reviews quotations and working close with engineering and customer manager to assist in the quoting and purchasing of goods and services.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities to ensure timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Utilize SAP ERP systems to track inventory levels and manage procurement processes effectively.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to align purchasing with manufacturing schedules.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Coordinate logistics for incoming materials to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for contract evaluation.
- Data entry.
- Coordinate deliveries with driver.
- Assist with secondary operation when required.
- Job Shop/Manufacturing experience is required.
