Job Description:
Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals, and requirements received from VIP customer service representatives (V.C.S.R.), production, quality control and the lab.
Identifies the labor, material and time requirements, from the quotation, request, drawings, specifications, and related documents. Calls vendors to get updated pricing on all required material in the proper size, quality, and quantity to ensure customer satisfaction. It is the estimators’ responsibility to enter the information accurately into the VIP software program.
Reports any problem areas or missing information to his/her supervisor and follows through with recommended solutions to those problems; she/he is responsible for coordinating with the V.C.S.R., both giving information and receiving information. Performs duties and tasks deemed necessary by the Department Manager, Supervisor, or any Administrator in the Company.
Core Competencies (Skills):
Must be able to meet scheduled deadlines in achieving department production goals through the ability of planning, and organizing his request for quotations. She/he must have a thorough knowledge of the production processes within the Company.
1. Must communicate effectively with V.C.S.R., the order processing unit, other department managers and administrative personnel. She/he will use the telephone, facsimile machines, computer programs, letters, e-mail, and other forms of communication.
2. Must have a basic understanding of VIP Rubber Company’s technology.
3. She/he must be proficient in MS Office software, with an emphasis on Excel software.
4. Must be a team player with basic understanding of the importance of their role in the organization as a whole.
5. The position requires no supervisory responsibilities; but the employee must be organized, a self-starter, and able to work with all department personnel.
6. Must have the ability to read and comprehend complex instructions from our V.C.S.R. team to interpret their exact needs, and effectively present pricing information to the team.
7. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
8. She/he must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed,
involved written or oral instructions. In addition, she/he must demonstrate the ability to deal
with problems, as they arise and find mutually satisfactory solution’s as required.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
