POSITION SUMMARY The Marketing Analyst supports the Marketing & Communications team by turning data, research, and business needs into actionable insights that help Cincinnati Metro better serve its riders and community. This role combines analytical thinking with strong communication skills. The Marketing Analyst will evaluate marketing performance, rider and customer data, communications initiatives, and operational information to identify trends, measure results, and support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data while also understanding the importance of clear, accessible communication in a public-service environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Analyze marketing, communications, customer, and ridership data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and performance metrics for Marketing & Communications leadership.
  • Measure the effectiveness of campaigns, public information initiatives, digital communications, and community outreach efforts.
  • Translate complex data into clear findings, recommendations, and presentations for Metro executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Support forecasting, scenario analysis, and business-case development for marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Establish and document data definitions, reporting processes, and analytical methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and business processes.
  • Monitor industry trends, peer transit agencies, and emerging practices in marketing analytics, customer engagement, and public-sector communications.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to participate in tabling opportunities to share information, educate the community on Metro, and gather feedback.
  • Gather and analyze engagement data, participation trends, and qualitative feedback from riders, residents, and community partners.
  • Support engagement team in community outreach activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.

Experience
  • Experience with a transit agency, local government, public-sector organization, transportation organization, or other customer-focused public service a plus.
  • Experience analyzing customer or community data preferred.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings to executives or other senior stakeholders preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in business analysis, marketing analytics, research, performance analysis, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience with public engagement and outreach.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people across different departments and levels of an organization.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficient in the MS Office (or similar) suite, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint; GroupWise email; Maximo (or similar) inventory management and purchasing modules.
  • Experience with spreadsheet and data-analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop practical recommendations.
  • Familiarity with SQL, CRM platforms, marketing analytics, web analytics, or survey platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
