Job Summary
We are hiring a Material Handling Laborer to assist with day-to-day warehouse operations at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary National Supply Center (ANSC). This hands-on position plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of material distribution.
Responsibilities
Material Handling & Logistics
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers efficiently and safely
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to transport and reallocate inventory
Order Fulfillment
- Execute batch picking, manual sorting, and accurate routing of completed orders
- Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing items for shipping, including special mailings
Warehouse Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safe work practices
Inventory Support
- Verify incoming deliveries and inspect for damage or discrepancies
- Report issues promptly to support inventory accuracy and control
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Able to pass required background checks, including NACI and FBI fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations or material handling
- Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
- Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving boxes or pallets
- Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures with precision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
