Agape of Central Alabama is seeking a licensed or license eligible social worker (BSW, LMSW, or LICSW) to join our team to minister to expectant mothers who are in crisis. This position provides non-directive counseling to expectant parents to help them make the best plan for their child. This position will also be trained to provide therapeutic group counseling. This position also engages in outreach to community organizations, partner agencies and other ministries to make them aware of the services of Agape.
The ideal candidate will have experience in community based or in home social work and crisis intervention. Be familiar with Birmingham metro community resources, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries. This position has on call responsibilities and requires a flexible schedule. The candidate needs to be proficient in multi-tasking and prioritizing needs and skilled in working with a diverse population. Trauma informed experience preferred.
