Job Title: Mechanical Estimator
Location: Mineola, NY
Salary: $135K - $160K
We are a well-established mechanical contracting firm specializing in commercial HVAC projects throughout New York City’s five boroughs. We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator (HVAC focus) to join our team and play a key role in producing accurate, competitive bids that help us win and deliver successful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including design-build, retrofits, and tenant fit-outs.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to define scope, requirements, and potential risks.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure all HVAC elements are included in the estimate.
- Develop bid packages, cost breakdowns, and tender documentation.
- Maintain and update cost databases to ensure accurate pricing for future projects.
Requirements:
- Proven track record as a Mechanical Estimator with strong HVAC expertise in commercial construction.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and controls.
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software (Trimble, McCormick, PlanSwift) and MS Office.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
