Job Description:
36 hours per week.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and when appropriate oxygen saturation); height; weight and recording information in patient record. Prepares patients for the provider examination by providing examination gowns and drapes and positioning the patient as needed. Provides appropriate care as directed by the provider’s order and/or instruction. This position is also responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical clinic. This position will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Performs other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant qualifications:
EDUCATION: Associate Degree in a Medical Assistant program required.
EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience and/or training in a medical office preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS: Certification as a Medication Aide from the State of NE is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) with a recommended renewal date to be obtained within 90 days of employment. Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
