Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient appointments and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient procedures by submitting orders to multiple hospitals and surgical centers, ensuring prior authorizations and medical clearances are obtained.
- Oversee scheduling to align with physician availability and patient needs, facilitating timely and efficient care delivery.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently while considering provider availability and patient needs.
- Verify Insurance and obtain Prior Authorizations as required for outpatient procedures.
- Manage incoming calls.
- Provide physician support in preparing patient & room for in office procedures.
- Assist with coding for insurance purposes, including ICD coding.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including filing, faxing, medical equest, and managing correspondence.
- Traveling with physician to other office location 1-2 day of week.(if required)
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Familiarity with hospital, medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services.
- Knowledge of medical administrative support functions and basic life support protocols.
- Experience with EHR systems for efficient record management.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and medication administration.
- 1 year previous experience in a clinical setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
