Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within our medical facility, providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in various medical settings, including psychiatric mental health, giving injections, receptionist skills, and knowledge of normal vs abnormal vital signs.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting personal information and verifying insurance details
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date
- Assist with the administration of vital signs and basic life support as needed
- Provide support for medical staff by preparing patients for examinations and procedures
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information- up to date HIPPA training certification
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with EHR systems for efficient patient record management
- Familiarity with various medical specialties
- Ability to perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs and administering injectable medications when necessary
- Excellent communication skills to provide exceptional patient service and support to healthcare professionals
- Previous experience in hospital settings (Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred) or clinic environments is highly desirable
- Understanding of urgent care protocols and practices related to both outpatient and inpatient care
