Job Overview
We are seeking a candidate who has prior experience as a Medical Biller as well as office manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, submissions of claims, facilitating timely collections, and following up on denials. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10. The Medical Biller in addition should have leadership skills and experience to manage all day to day operations of the practice including inventory, ordering, training new hires, and supervising/obtaining prior-authorizations of in office buy & bill medications. Also, ability to fill in any role(MA, front desk) in case of need, supervision of employee hours, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage to ensure accurate billing.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
- Stay updated on changes in coding standards, regulations, and insurance policies.
- Inventory management, maintaining clean & professional work environment
- Manage and supervise all day to day operations of the medical office ensuring un-interrupted work flow and keeping in mind quality and patient satisfaction
- Hiring, training of new employees
- Finding opportunities for growth and cost reduction
Experience
- Previous biller and office manager experience in a medical office is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-10
- Familiarity with billing software systems and electronic health records
- Strong attention to detail, efficient with excellent organizational skills.
- Leadership skills to manage staff and ensuring efficient and smooth running of day to day operations, while keeping patients satisfaction as a priority
- Experience in obtaining prior authorizations
- Ability to schedule patients, attend phone calls, MA if needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
