Conditions of employment

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• A pre-placement medical examination is required, and an annual medical examination may be required thereafter.
• This position is covered by Health Affairs Policy 97006, 23 October 1996, which requires you to obtain Hepatitis B Immunization unless exempted by a physician.
• This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• This position requires to maintain compliance with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and other specialized training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
• This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
• This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of the head, spine, extremities, and body cavity including computerized 2D and 3D Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) Imaging of the vascular system; assisting with intravenous therapy; and providing support to radiologists and physicians in evaluating of x-ray results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).
