Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable /Billing and Insurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, as well as familiarity with medical terminology and systems.
Please note: This position involves working at the front desk as a receptionist in addition to managing insurance and billing issues.
Duties
- Process and post payments received from patients and insurance companies.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts and manage collections.
- Review and reconcile patient accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions and communications.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge to ensure proper billing practices are followed.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding standards.
- Front desk reception ; managing phone calls; scheduling patient appointments
Skills
- Proficient in medical billing processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, including ICD-10 coding and DRG systems.
- Experience with medical collections and handling patient inquiries regarding billing issues.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
