Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing high-complexity clinical testing, maintaining quality assurance standards, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory results. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory sciences, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.

This is a float MLS position to cover STAT Hemtology and Chemistry lab at 5 locations for call out and PTO

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform specimen handling, processing, and testing in accordance with laboratory SOPs
- Accurately analyze specimens and report patient test results
- Maintain and document proficiency testing and quality control records
- Calibrate instruments and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment
- Identify and resolve technical problems affecting test performance
- Follow all CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety guidelines
- Communicate STAT or critical results to clients per department protocols
- Review and release test results ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab environment
- Ensure all reagents and test kits are properly labeled and within date
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and audits/inspections as needed
- Provide customer support to clients and lab personnel when necessary
- Maintain accurate and complete records of testing performed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, OR
- Associate degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, OR
- Qualification under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990)
- Foreign-educated candidates must submit an IERF credential evaluation
- U.S.-educated candidates must submit official transcripts
- Certification:
- National certification as MT or MLT (ASCP or AMT) preferred or eligible
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience (high complexity testing) preferred
- Knowledge of QA, QC, and all areas of laboratory testing

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
