About the Role
Are you a pre-med or pre-PA student taking a gap year before applying to medical or physician assistant school? This opportunity provides direct patient care experience and exposure to clinical procedures in a supportive private medical practice.
We’re looking for a reliable, compassionate, and motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. You’ll work closely with physicians, assist in procedures, and gain meaningful hands-on experience in a real-world healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with in-office procedures (e.g., biopsies, cryotherapy, injections, suture removal)
- Take patient vitals and update electronic health records (EHR)
- Prepare procedure rooms using sterile techniques and proper infection control
- Educate patients on procedure prep and aftercare instructions
- Support clinical team with patient intake, specimen collection, and room turnover
- Answer phones, return patient calls, and assist with follow-up coordination
- Maintain medical supplies and ensure cleanliness of clinical areas
Qualifications
- Current or recent undergraduate student on a pre-med or pre-PA track
- Previous experience as an MA, scribe, EMT, or CNA is helpful but not required
- Strong interest in clinical medicine and patient care
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit to the position for at least 12 months
- Familiarity with HIPAA and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
