Medical Receptionist
Location: Downtown Manhattan, New York, NY
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (No weekends)
About Us:
We are a Dermatology office located in Downtown Manhattan looking for a dedicated and reliable Administrative Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. We prioritize patient care and efficiency, ensuring a supportive and professional environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line telephone calls
- Schedule and reschedule appointments
- Check in and check out patients
- Collect copayments and patient balances on the day of the appointment
- Inform patients of deductibles and coinsurances
- Obtain medical records as needed
- Verify if insurance requires referrals
- Collect payments for surgeries upfront
- Handle prior authorizations
- Manage staff and provider schedules
- Perform other front office duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must have medical office experience (Dermatology experience preferred)
- Must be reliable and able to multi-task effectively
- ECW (eClinicalWorks) experience preferred but not required (training provided)
- Proficient in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
Key Skills:
- Efficient and effective use of EMR system
- Perform check-in and check-out process for patients using EMR system
- Schedule new patients, follow-up appointments, and other patient testing as requested by the provider
- Review daily cash flow to ensure it matches the daily log
- Review and prepare the next day's patient schedule to ensure appropriate time allocation for each patient type
- Create super bills in advance for the next day
- Process all schedule changes and communicate with physicians regarding schedules
