Medical Services Navigator

Full Time

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Will guide the person in service through the admission process.
• Complete all admission paperwork.
• Complete referrals to other programs
• Reminder calls for appointments.
• Schedule office visits
• Create collaborative relationships with staff across departments.
• Help coordinate care between providers.
• Assist providers with administrative tasks associated with person-in-service outcomes.
• Facilitate access to healthcare services (medical and behavioral) and community resources.

• Maintain all necessary paperwork directly related to the position and care of the person in services within the designated time frame.
• Possesses knowledge of healthcare systems, insurance plans, and patient resources

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s degree in a social service- or healthcare-related field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Competent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and to adapt when faced with internal or external barriers, or when faced with differing points of view.
• Ability to anticipate next steps, be proactive, and collaborate with coworkers.
• Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills, able to effectively respond to difficult situations and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a current and valid Kansas driver’s license.
