QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma, workstation support experience, understanding of TCP/IP, LAN, and client/server environments. Civil Service Exam.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The basic function of this position is to be a technical support person (first-line technical support) for users of technology. This position supports the network users by making sure that all technology components to support workstation activities are working properly. Ability to enter work performed into tracking software and check for new assignments. Able to work in a classroom environment and not disrupt the class and to schedule disruptive work during non-class time. Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner without direct supervision.
Technical expertise should include:
Windows 11 & Chrome OS & MacOS
OS install, configuration, and imaging in Windows Domain environments
TCP/IP, LAN and client/server environments
Wired & wireless connectivity setup and troubleshooting
Ability to solve most workstation related issues
Install and troubleshoot problems with security cameras
Install and troubleshoot problems with VoIP phones
Hardware & peripheral support
Troubleshooting of hard drive, RAM, & CD/DVD drive failures.
Repair & Replace parts on laptops & Chromebooks
Installation and troubleshooting of printers (both local and network), scanners, & cameras
Installation and configuration of peripherals like card readers, doc cameras, etc…
Software
Performs network and local software installs
Troubleshooting software issues and maintain a software library
Ability to solve most workstation related issues with minimal supervision
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months, benefit package, 7-3 pm, Monday-Friday
