Job Overview
We are hiring a CAD Technician, proficient in MiTek Sapphire Structure and AutoCAD to join our team full-time. This role focuses on modeling and reconfiguring pre-manufactured roof and floor truss designs to support truss repair engineers.
You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and builders to accurately model damaged truss conditions using MiTek software. This is a remote position with occasional travel required.
Responsibilities
- Use MiTek Sapphire Structure to model and adjust roof and floor trusses.
- Draft truss repairs using AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineers, truss designers and builders to collect and interpret truss field data.
- Model damaged truss conditions accurately to assist in repair design solutions.
- Read and interpret architectural blueprints and structural drawings.
- Participate in periodic site visits as needed (travel may be required occasionally).
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MiTek Sapphire Structure (required).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently research and apply U.S. construction codes and practices.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in design or manufacturing of premanufactured trusses.
- Familiarity with wood design principles or wood construction.
- Degree in structural or civil engineering, or related field.
