Custodian, Janitor - START ASAP!
Are you looking for variety in your work and the opportunity to grow into a leadership role? We are seeking a Mobile Custodian (Float) to join our team in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo areas. As a float, you’ll provide coverage at multiple locations, keeping our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. This role offers the chance to build leadership skills and could lead to an Area Team Lead position for the right candidate!
Position available:
- Monday-Friday: primarily midday shifts with flexibility to cover call-ins (earliest start 6am / latest end 10pm)
Pay: $17/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, restroom sanitation, and trash removal
- Operate floor scrubbers or other floor-care equipment
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across various settings: medical facilities, schools, manufacturing sites, offices, and more
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and team members
- Support coverage needs across locations
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Previous cleaning experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (travel between sites required)
- Ability to pass a federal background check and motor vehicle records check
- Commitment to efficiency and quality standards
