Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Mortgage Processor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the loan origination process by ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of financial services and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assists Mortgage Loan Officers with full preparation of mortgage documentation.
- Processes mortgage applications and assists with clearing loan conditions.
- Registers and locks loans with mortgage investors.
- Prepares closed packages and fully disburses loans for closings.
- Tracks for recordings – mortgages, satisfactions, assignments
- Ensures that investors receive all recorded documents and final title policies in a timely manner.
- Records all mortgage fundings and prepares report.
- Orders verifications, appraisals, title reports, floods, credit reports
- Works with escrow accounts, records HMDA filing
- Understands secondary market guidelines, knowledgeable on government mortgage processing as well as construction mortgages.
- Monitors e-mail correspondence and pulls website applications.
- Works with the members, attorneys, title companies, mortgage companies, realtors, appraisal companies.
- Keeps realtors and members informed on the progression of the loan.
- Answers general real estate questions for members.
- Ensures that each completed loan file meets all compliance requirements.
- Promotes positive attitude and cooperation among fellow employees and members.
- Completes special projects and performs other job duties as assigned.
Experience
- Previous experience in loan processing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with loan origination systems and software is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of underwriting processes and financial services is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Basic math skills are necessary for calculating loan amounts and assessing borrower qualifications.
- Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, and Fair Housing regulations is a plus.
