Network Specialist – Cannon AFB, NM (Active DOD Clearance Required)
Relocation Assistance: $1,500 available for out-of-area hires
Per Diem: Available for candidates over 50 miles away
We’re seeking a Network Specialist to provide hands-on LAN/WAN support for one of the world’s largest healthcare networks. This role combines technical problem-solving with strategic collaboration between the local hospital CIO and the Defense Health Agency.
What You’ll Do:
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, and related hardware/software
- Plan and implement network upgrades and security measures
- Diagnose and resolve network performance issues across all OSI layers
- Work with multiple network protocols, standards, and devices (Cisco, HP, Nortel, etc.)
- Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity in a DoD environment
Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance
- IAT Level II certification (CE certification within 6 months; CCNA preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant network experience (or equivalent education/training)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices
- Experience with tools such as HP OpenView, Cisco Works, or similar
- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, DoD technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Familiarity with healthcare IT environments and large-scale enterprise networks

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
