Nursing Assistant position with CNA training fully funded by HAMC.
Viewed as a personal care aide. In such a capacity to assists resident with Activities of Daily Living. Performs laundry, housekeeping duties, and assists in the dining room on a daily basis. The job is a multifaceted position with many elements aside from nursing.
- Must possess a positive feeling for the elderly and be able to work well with them. Good communication skills.
- High school education completed. Will hire high school students.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification must be obtained approximately 90 days of employment (training available).
- BLS Certification required (training available)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing and grooming.
- Transport or assist in transporting patients to appointments or activities within the facility
- Change bed linens and maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Report changes in patient behavior or condition to nursing staff promptly
- Answer call lights and respond to patient needs in a timely manner
- Assist with meal distribution and monitor food/fluid intake as instructed
- Ensure patient privacy and dignity are maintained at all times
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Reports all resident concerns or problems to Charge Nurse.
- Reports facility problems to appropriate department. Participates in quality assurance activities, meetings, and in-services.
- All other duties as assigned.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work takes place in the Living Center area. Nursing Assistants are involved in the management and delivery of resident care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric residents.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, hazardous material and other conditions common to a health care environment.
