Optalis Healthcare is seeking experienced Nurse Unit Managers for a busy skilled nursing facility.
Position Summary: Our Nursing Supervisors are part of a team approach to patient care and will assist with residents and family members' concerns & questions. The Unit Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of all residents during the shift.
This position supervises licensed nurses and other nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services according to each resident’s comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care. Manages unit in accord with Facility philosophy, in compliance with standards of professional nursing practice, and with all State and Federal rules and regulations. Utilizes resources in an efficient and economic manner to ensure that each resident achieves the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Utilizes the nursing process in assessing emergency and non-emergent resident/visitor situations.
Candidates should have knowledge and/or previous experience with the geriatric (elder) population and State regulations as they apply to skilled nursing (SNF) and long term care experience.

Education:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
License:
- Current, Active license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan. Must have no restrictions or sanctions on license
Performance Requirements:
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including computer & EHR (electronic health record) competency
- Effective use of interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Initiative and flexibility in work environment
- Ability to establish and carry out priorities as an integral part of the skilled nursing team.
Experience:
- Minimum Three Years’ experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or Long Term Care Facility, providing direct care to residents. Prior experience as a Unit Charge Nurse experience preferred & Supervisory experience required
