Job Summary
The Benefits Associate’s focus will be assisting with all aspects of employee benefits and benefit information; providing information to new and current employees, and other HR team members; and ensuring employee proof of coverage and accurate collection of premiums. Regularly communicate with Hogan’s insurance providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the administration of all benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k etc.
- Ensures the accuracy of benefit enrollments in ADP and vendor’s websites
- Manages benefit life event status changes, ensuring documentation is provided and information is complete/correct
- Process life insurance and disability claims
- Maintains a high level of customer service while responding to phone calls and emails regarding employee benefit concerns and inquiries
- Processes COBRA qualifying events and works with COBRA provider
- Distributes new hire benefits documentation
- Tracks and collects insurance premiums for employees on leave
- Works with payroll to ensure employees’ benefit payroll deductions are accurate
- Evaluates and revises internal processes to increase efficiency
- Assists with Open Enrollment coordination and on-going benefit education
- Maintains confidentiality of employee information and communications
- Prepares mass benefits communication mailings as necessary
- Creates reports, as needed, for others within the department or other internal customers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- College course work in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficient in Word and PowerPoint
- Up to 2 year’s experience in benefits administration preferred
- ADP WorkforceNow experience preferred
- Understanding of welfare benefit programs including 401k
- Good business acumen
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong listening skills
