POSITION: Operations Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Operations
FLSA STATUS: Full-time/ Salaried/ Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of the weekly schedule for operations staff and changeover crews.
- Coordinates the Operations activities with event departments and event related contractors to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events. Assist Event Department as needed in securing show labor request.
- Oversee and work the “conversions/ changeovers” of the arena as it pertains to converting the POCC rom show to show and other configurations as needed. Making sure conversions are done effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in keeping accurate inventory of building tools, machinery, cleaning supplies and building equipment.
- Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed.
- Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.
- Develop and implement a storage plan for all excess and storable items which could include: excess seats, machinery, and other POCC assets.
- Supervise POCC operations employees, both full-time and part-time and custodial personnel.
- Work cooperatively with the Operations Manager on all construction, renovations and equipment changes and/or purchases.
- Assist in the overall cleanliness of the inside and outside of the arena, equipment and mechanical areas.
- Direct and motivate subordinates in a manner conducive to full job performance and high morale
- Meet with operation staff to outline work that must be done for the day/week.
- Has knowledge of sense of timing as to what activities should be taking place within a time frame to accomplish necessary tasks to ensure a successful event.
- Has knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in operations.
- Evaluates work procedures and facility wide operations and plans and develops improvements in consultation with Manager of Operations.
- Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from technical college with major in Management or Maintenance Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Supervising/Managing or in a Lead position in a similar facility
- Additional experience may be substituted for education
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
- Ability to effectively supervise staff
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member
- FL Class E Driver's License is required prior to appointment & must be maintained.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles with a gross weight of 26,000 pounds
- Ability to read blueprints or other diagrams
- Ability to operate other equipment such as light trucks, forklifts, golf carts, pallet jacks and aerial lifts
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook. The use of AutoCAD is helpful. Will be required to learn the Maintenance Manager Software program.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
- May be exposed to a high noise level for extended periods of time, related to event type.
- This position occupies a windowless environment for possible extended hours during a shift.
- Will require being outside during adverse weather.
- Required to utilize protective equipment as may be needed for the specific task.
- May be exposed to bodily fluids during course of work.
