Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring that all medical records are maintained with precision. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, particularly related to the eye and visual systems. The Ophthalmic Scribe will work closely with healthcare professionals in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans during patient visits.
- Document all relevant medical information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist ophthalmologists by preparing patients for examinations and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed prior to appointments.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to streamline office operations and improve patient flow.
- Stay updated on ophthalmic procedures, terminology, and best practices to enhance documentation accuracy.
Experience
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye and visual systems is essential.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health record systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or emergency room setting is advantageous but not required.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to ophthalmology is highly desirable.
- Excellent typing skills with attention to detail for accurate transcription of patient information.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
