We are rapidly growing and looking for a highly motivated Optometric Assistant / Patient Coordinator to join our team.
No experience? No problem! We provide on-site training. What matters most is your amazing customer service skills, friendly personality, and genuine passion for helping people.
Position Overview
As an Optometric Assistant / Patient Coordinator, you will be the welcoming face of our practice and play an essential role in supporting both patient care and office operations. This is a great opportunity to learn about optometry, optical work, and the inner workings of a thriving practice while building relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide an exceptional customer experience
- Perform patient pre-testing for the doctor (training provided)
- Handle front desk duties: scheduling, phone calls, and patient check-in/check-out
- Submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently
- Assist with optical tasks such as frame selection, fitting, dispensing glasses, and contact lens training (optional training provided)
- Learn basic lens edging and fabrication (optional)
- Support practice growth through basic social media content creation and posting
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment
Qualifications
- Amazing customer service skills – friendly, personable, and authentic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and grow with the practice
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfort with basic technology (computers, tablets, etc.)
- Social media savvy is a plus
- Previous optical or medical office experience is a plus, but not required
