No prior optical or medical experience? No problem—we’ll provide complete training! *Bilingual in Mandarin/Cantonese is strongly preferred*—you’ll help translate for the doctor daily and communicate with our Mandarin/Cantonese speaking patients.
What You’ll Do
- Greet and assist patients, creating a welcoming environment
- Translate and explain information in Mandarin/Cantonese for the doctor*
- Manage front desk tasks: phones, scheduling, data entry, scanning, faxing
- Assist patients with frame selection, adjustments, repairs, and orders
- Train patients on contact lens use (including specialty lenses)
- Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing
- Enter accurate information into electronic medical records
- Verify insurance, process billing, submit claims, and review benefits with patients
- Educate patients about eyewear, specialty services, eye conditions, and follow-up care
- Help meet sales goals while ensuring top-notch patient care
- Contribute to office marketing and promotion
- Keep the office clean, organized, and running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
- Bilingual (Mandarin/Cantonese) – Strong translation and communication skills are essential and vital to our practice*
- Local candidates preferred – Ideally within 20–30 minutes of Monterey Park
- Fast learner – Able to adapt quickly and absorb new skills
- Detail-oriented & accurate – Minimizing errors is key
- People-focused – Friendly, patient, and able to make others feel comfortable
- Strong communicator – In person and on the phone
- Problem solver – Common sense, critical thinking, and good judgment
- Team player – Works well under pressure, supports others, and contributes to group success
- Reliable & punctual – Consistent attendance and dependable transportation
