Job Overview
We’re looking for a reliable Optometric Billing & Coding Associate to handle medical billing, coding, and accounts receivable tasks. This part-time role is perfect for someone with experience in eye care billing who values accuracy and timeliness.
Duties
- Submit and manage medical and vision insurance claims
- Code patient encounters accurately using CPT and ICD-10 guidelines
- Process accounts receivable, reconcile payments, and follow up on denials
- Communicate with insurance companies and resolve billing issues
- Post payments and maintain accurate billing records
- Support the team with billing inquiries and patient statement preparation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in optometry or ophthalmology
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and vision/medical insurance procedures
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with electronic health records and billing software
