Key Responsibilities:
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily surgical operations including room turnover, case flow, and staff coordination.
Ensure timely and efficient surgical scheduling and minimize delays or cancellations.
Act as a liaison between surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and administrative teams.
Staff Management
Hire, train, and manage OR staff, including circulating nurses, scrub techs, and support staff.
Create staffing schedules that balance patient needs and budget constraints.
Provide ongoing performance feedback and facilitate continuing education.
Regulatory Compliance & Patient Safety
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, AAAHC).
Enforce infection control policies and ensure adherence to sterile processing protocols.
Conduct regular audits, drills, and safety meetings.
Quality Improvement
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) like on-time starts, turnover times, and patient outcomes.
Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Respond to patient complaints and incident reports; conduct root cause analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: RN license required
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in perioperative nursing, with 2+ years in a leadership role in an ASC or outpatient setting.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills.
