Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting orthodontists in various procedures. This position requires proficiency in dental terminology, chairside assisting, and familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. A strong understanding of infection control and aseptic techniques is essential to ensure a safe and sterile environment for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary, ensuring high-quality results for treatment planning.
- Monitor vital signs of patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including pediatric dentistry and general dentistry services.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, procedures, and advancements in orthodontics.
- Take impression for patient, and make retainers for patient
- Other duties include cleaning the lab and operatories, sweeping/mopping as needed; cleaning common areas and removing the trash; providing oral hygiene and home care instructions to patients
Experience
- Must have 1 year orthodontic assistant experience
- Knowledge of medical documentation, medical coding, and medical records management is beneficial.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and basic understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.

Working Hours:
Tuesday to Friday 8 to 6 pm and two Saturday morning a month from 8 to 1 PM.
