Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Orthodontic Assistant will assist the orthodontist with various tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures by preparing the treatment area and ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking X-rays and managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize dental software for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor vital signs as needed and assist with orthodontic procedures.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in orthodontics.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside assisting.
- Familiarity with orthodontic procedures
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging and understand dental documentation processes.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
