Post baccalaureate fellow in Orthoptics. Orthoptics is the study of the ophthalmic science that pertains to vision, visual function, eye movements and binocular coordination. An orthoptist is a health care professional who specializes in visual function assessment and neuromuscular anomalies of the eyes. The Orthoptic fellow will learn to administer diagnostic orthoptic tests, interpret results, perform therapeutic orthoptic procedures, and provide instruction to patients with correctable vision focusing defects. The fellow will be under the direct supervision of the medical director and orthoptic preceptor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of a four-year baccalaureate degree.

  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.

  • The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work collaboratively with coworkers, physicians, children, and their families.
